Pecan Flounder Vanns Spice Blends Vanns Herbs for Fish is a blend based on one used for several hundred years by fishermen around Lake Como in Italy. They add it to oil and use it to baste fish while cooking over coals by the lakefront. It is really a universal blend. It should be called "Herbs for Everything". It is good in tomato soup, in tomato casserole dishes, on chicken, in pasta salads, and in sour cream and ricotta dip. Last night I was making peas to go with grilled salmon. I put them in a covered microwave safe dish, added a little bit of water and about a tablespoon of olive oil, and then sprinkled them with a generous amount of the Herbs for Fish. I cooked them two minutes on high, shook the dish, and fininshed off with 2 more minutes of cooking. The peas were delicious. Try it in this Pecan Flounder Recipe. It is scrumptious.
Combine all ingredients. Marinate 1 hour. Place on foil with 1 tablespoon marinade for each fillet; close foil tightly. Or place in porcelain baker with 1 tablespoon marinade for each fillet and cover with foil. Bake 20 minutes at 350º. Super Bowl Vegetable Dip with Herbs for Fish
