The high fired glaze on Pillivuyt porcelains makes them virtually non-porous and therefore very easy to clean. The evenness of the sides and bottoms ensures even heat distribution. They go from freezer to oven or microwave to table and are elegant enough to use as serving pieces with your very best dinnerware. Louis Charles Pillivuyt built the original Pillivuyt factory in France in 1818, and today Pillivuyt is the leading porcelain manufacturer in France. They are produced by skilled artisans in the town of Mehun-Sur-Yevre. State of the art production methods along with hand craftsmanship results in porcelains that are functional and beautiful. All the pieces are fired at 1400 degrees Centigrade to make them virtually non-porous and, therefore, very easy to clean. The porcelains heat very evenly because of the consistency of the thickness in the sides and bottoms of the dishes. Each piece can be transferred from freezer to oven to table and is microwave and dishwasher safe. Pillivuyt porcelains are free from lead and cadmium. We love these porcelains! | |
