"Rub
all together:"
1/2 cup brown sugar
heaping cup flour (about 1 1/4 cups)
2 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
butter the size of an egg (about 1/4 cup)
Add:
3/4 cup milk
1 cup raisins
Boil:
3 cups water
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
butter the size of an egg (about 1/4 cup)
Pour the
boiled liquid mixture into an 8 or 9-inch square cake pan, then drop the
first mixture by spoonfuls into the liquid (be careful - it's hot!)
Bake at 350ºF until golden brown, about 45 minutes.
