Strawberries Romanoff

Strawberries Romanoff only has three ingredients and takes only minutes to prepare.

The Ingredients are as follows:

Ripe strawberries
Grand Marnier
Orange juice

      

You need to begin 3 hours before serving.

Wash and hull the strawberries. Place them in a non-reactive bowl: glass or stainless steel. Then pour over the strawberries equal amounts of Grand Marnier and orange juice until the top berries are almost submerged. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put the strawberries in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours. If you desire, you can gently stir them once or twice.

Variations:
   1. Grand Marnier is the most flavorful liqueur to use, but you can substitute
       Curaçao or Cointreau.
   2. Don't be bound by the classical proportions of 1 measure of liqueur to 1 measure
       of orange juice. I prefer less liqueur per orange juice. Experiment to find out what
       you like.

       

Just before serving, make some crème chantilly (whipped cream) to top the berries.

Crème Chantilly
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Whip the cream until it begins to thicken; then add the sugar and vanilla and beat until stiff enough to form peaks when the beater is lifted.

Put some berries and juice in individual serving bowls and top with whipped cream.
